Hey Jazzers - Had some money this week so was able to go and get some tunes
for once. Here's the deal !

Neon Phusion - 'The future ain't the same as it used to be' (Laws of Motion)
Excellent all the way through, in the West london House not House vein
including the track named after the albumn thats been ho for a long time
now. Also my favourite 'Electric Lady' great vocals

Kenny Dope - 'Can U handle it' (BBE) Part one is a great slice of breaks &
funk that slips nicely into the bag as a 7"

Two Banks of Four - 'Afro Blue' (Sirkus)Been out a while now, I think
they're from Japan and a great Jazz D&B cover of one of my favourite tracks
- Julie Dexter does an even better vocal of this on the J-Life album.

Jenny Devivo - 'Seasons of the witch' (AfroArt) - Forget the Kenny Dope
mixes and flip to a pretty infectious downtempo groove with nice vocals to
match.

SK Radicals - 'Da Farside' (people) - Dub bass driven house (not house
track) a little similar to that 'Roots' track by IG Culture that was around
last year, except wid some sparse vocals.

The Capoeira Twins - '(oops forgotten) (Blowfish -Manchester) - Great mix
of sampled jazz vocals mixed with some recognisable rave sounds breakbeat
bizniz and driven by a wicked bass-line. Good fun !

Muchu Macho - 'Easy Living' - got this because one of my fave vocalist John
Lucien was guesting. Not a bad track but not really worth buying, none of
the mixes by Ashley beedle or Aim really help.

Main Squeeze Sampler - Selected by Phil Asher - Just check the Likwid
Biskit track out, great in nu-jazz. Other tracks including the Blacktonez
feat Melissa Brown didn't rate much at all.

Hi Fi Jazz Sampler EP - Another sampler of West London winter warmers with
Mustang, Jessica Lauren and the best track of frenetic jazz d&B is
'brasiliance' by Bugs.

Oh yeah and before I sign off - had to listen to the James Taylor Quartet
live a couple of nights this week. I remember a few years ago gettin' down
to these guys but now they just seem dated and watchin' a bunch of essex
beer boyz & gals wobblin away on stage with them to the tune of Starskey
and Hutch weren't a pretty site - Pure Gorgonzola !
