i would also add open mind music (on divisadero, a couple blocks north of
haight, and across the street from the church of st. john coltrane)...a
little bit of everything, very vinyl friendly, and has been very kind to me
in the used wax dept. also on haight, don't miss groove merchant, and to
lesser degrees, tweekin' (small but good section in the back for hiphop d'n'b
acid jazz; front room for techno and house) faster bamboo, reckless records
and a couple of others...there's also a new drum and bass only store on
valencia at market, just around the corner from where haight meets market.

as for night spots, justice league (on divisadero) has got some killer shows
this whole month.
