Hiya guys. Had the pleasure of experiencing Norman Jay & Jose Padilla at an
outdoor show in Sydney today. Was fantastic. Padilla played a 2 1/2 hour
set which started off nice and mellow (ala cafe del mar cds) and ended up
with a 60 minute set of uptempo house, garage and deep house. Norman Jay
(the man i want deejaying in heavan when I die) started off patchy and
rough and playing a rough mix of rare groove, hip hop and jazz stuff. Once
he realsied that this wasn't a London rare groove crowd he started ripping
some wonderful garage and jazzy house which had the whole house jumping.

One thing that Norman played very early on was a drum and bass version of
Private Life, the second most famously recorded by Grace Jones. I know it
is not a Jones version remixed. The track featured Sly and Robbie's
original rhythm track but with vocals from another singer. Anyone know what
is is? It's fantastic!!!!!
