It's real easy for most of us to point our fingers at the sellouts.

What happens, though, if through the pursuit of your own musical interests
you just blow up?
Are you just gonna reject all that, or ride the wave, walk the walk,
talk the talk, with the hope that you can get your message out without
it being diluted too much?

I think it takes courage to be intelligent and go down the commercialist
avenue, with the hopes of establishing in the end a net positive
contribution
to society.
I think Lauren H has (is) doing that.

If you compare her to some of the other women who are speaking to
urban youth, such as Fox Boogie Brown and Brandy and Little Kim,
you can see so obviously how Lauren is sending positive constructive
messages and serving as a great role model.

If you cant dig the music, or if you've heard it too many times on
the radio, that's ok... but I dont see much of a point in going on
about her seemingly corrupted and commercial style when in fact she's
keeping it much more real, in fact as real as possible, in an industry
that spits out more washed out trash than the shores of New Jersey

personally I think she has a dope voice, and has consistently produced
quality popular music (not my favorite by any means)
since she first appeared with the Fugees with Nappy Heads.
Not to mention, during her musical carreer she managed to get a degree
from Columbia university and to have a baby... the woman's strong...
