What up all! I was in New Orleans this weekend and
picked up the new MC Solaar, which is a two-disc live
set of his various songs. I'm diggin this shit. The
crowd in Paris really rocks with him on several
tracks, singin along. Definitely worth buying. It's
the No. 3 album in the World section at Virgin.
I gave the Thievery Corp.'s DJ KICKS! thing a
listen. I wasn't too impressed, but then I agree with
others on this list that those compilations are
overrated.
Also saw a Compost Records import compilation that
included A Mighty Forest Black and Jazzanova. I had a
green and white cover. Fairly simple packaging. Anyone
know if this is worth buying.
   Still searching for:
Funk Spectrum on Barely Breaking Even
Gilles Peterson and Norman Jay, "Journeys By DJ"
   Blackalicious, "A2G EP"

Hey, anyone know when a benefit compilation called
"Unbound" is going to drop? It's supposed to raise
money for Mumia Abul-Jamal. There's a slew of rappers
that will guest appear.
