Stephanie,

You can enter to win Zap Mama goods from RS.com here:

http://rollingstone.tunes.com/sections/special/zapmama/default.asp?afl=fans

There's a link on this page that will take you to CDNow, where you can pick
up the new album. Don't forget to check out the Zap Mama webcast on Oct. 23.
In all honesty, I can't say I'm a fan...I just use this job as a front to
talk about beats on the 'net! :)

Ronnie

Subject: zap mama/need luaka bop help

Hey! nice weekend...

saw Zap mama in philly on friday. Good show!
borderline cheesy at times (like those matallic hats
they were wearing...looked like a cross between
mushroom tops and toilet seats.. eh)..., but overall
very effective, vivacious, infectious, and
occasionally touching combination of afropop,
acapella, and right-on-time beats. I've been listening
to them for a few years and always thought their stuff
would sound great with jungle. It's really gratifying
to hear this finally happening! I really had a good
time and I left the show inspired. (I swear to mother
earth that at one point Marie Dunne (sp?) was vocally
imitating a data stream...) Plus, I think I've fallen
in love with the girl who played bass...*and* a Nord
*and* mallets *and* sang AND beatboxed!!! *pitter
patter* Definitely worth catching this show if it
comes to your town. (midwest/subterror kids: they
will be in detroit.)

anyway, I would love to get the new album on vinyl,as
well as a couple other luaka bop items, but their
website is no help (just links you to amazon.com or
something, where I can't find vinyl...am I just being
stupid?) and I can't seem to dig up a phone number.

Any suggestions?

thanks!
stephanie
