i don't have the interview in front of me, but i think all three of them
were there. imagine that, paul oakenfold doing the warm up for gilles &
eddie!

personally, the first time i came across the acid jazz tag was summer '88. i
used to sneak through the back entrance to dingwalls (i was underage &
skint) to check out gilles peterson & patrick forge's sunday sessions. then
one night flyers were going around advertising jtq & jazz renegade gigs as
acid jazz nights.

no change in the music at first. but a big change in crowd. the goatees and
jazz-dancers were still there but suddenly joined by breakers and kids
wearing smiley's on their shirts. ahh memories...
