Thanks Anthony for the feed. But over the weekend I
picked the record up at Soul Jazz. The James Brown
record is called Sex Machine live in Atlanta Georgia.
And the tune is called Brother Rapp part II (if my
memory is not betraying my ass).

It was slightly expensive but it had to be done.
Anybody in French speaking Europe should try and get
Vibrations magazine August edition with an exhaustive
piece on the godfather, they said he was the most
important musician of the last 30 years and listening
to that live record I kinda understood their
viewpoint.

I also picked up a funk soul jazz comp. called RIght
On. By Chas Chandler from the archives of Warner,
Atlantic and affiliated labels, its got a 9 min. Les
McCann killer of a tune with the bass so in front its
slightly obscene. Pick it up people its a good thing.

and the new Roy Davis jr Soul Electronica but haven't
given it a listen yet.

and a limited edition 12" with P'taah on one side (its
my man Chris Brann in alter ego mode) and Caprices on
the other I think the tunes might be on the new
latinaires album but its out on Ibiquity.

and the highly recommended Cymande's third album,
Promised Heights, most of the tunes are already rare
groove classics; Brothers on the slide, the recluse...
What an achievement. Someone should give them the
Noble prize for penning that tune, the recluse what a
tune, soul in its purest form.
