Gilles Peterson has always dj-ed even before he set up Talkin' Loud. I
know he never beat mixes any of his music, but his variety of music
(ecclecticity) overshadows his mixing capability. I've heard him play
rare groove, acid jazz, hip hop, dub, downtempo, big beat, latin, afro
funk, drum & bass, detroit techno, house, and now 2- sep garage. Quite a
diverse and versatile DJ, imho. Kudos & respect 2 Gilles!!!!!

    About 2 Step Garage!!!
Yes, it has scattered around the U.S. slowly.
Myself (Essential) & Sonic have been playing it in the AZ. scene for the
past 2 years. We have set up the Bump 2K Krew. And are recording as the
Champagne Bros. We have a track called "Hungry for Love" coming out in
June. Hopefully, well get it out in the UK garage circles and create a
    buzz.
