AFAIK, "2Step" and "UK Garage" are one in the same (or at least another
    "Jungle"/"Drum N Bass" dichotomy :))

But Speed Garage is not the same as 2Step.

2Step is easily defined as garage (or soulful funky house) music that is free
from the oppressive reign of the played-out, repetitive, monotonous, cliche,
three-decades-old 4-on-the-floor kick drum beat, otherwise known as "DOOF DOOF
DOOF DOOF." I've been waiting for house-LIKE music that was free of that element
for a loooooong time, and this is it!

I personally descibe 2Step as: 1/3 House, 1/3 Jungle and 1/3 New Jack Swing,
with doses of jazz, ragga and dub thrown in for good measure.
