I picked up the Zap Mama last night. Not all french but mostly. Wonderful
    record.

Also picked up Femi Kuti, Abdel Gadir Salim and Presence. All in all I'd say
I hit pay dirt. The Presense disk lives up to it's hype as "Massive Attack"
doing house/techno. I'd never heard of Abdel Gadir Salim but it's basically
East African jazz. Heavy arabic influence with european insrumentation
(Saxaphone, acordian, guitar, lute, flute, violen, bass, bongos, etc). I'm
really digging it. The Femi Kuti was a surprise as well. I'd figured it was
all leftover hype from his father's career. I was wrong. Couple of
really tight tracks there. I expect the 12"s are even better.

    k
