is it wrong to say Keith Jarrett? He's the one that made it painfully clear
that jazz could be more...

and then along the lines of thinking that what was happening when we were
born has influenced our musical tastes... i have to think that whatever your
parents played in the car on the way home from the hospital had some kind of
submilinal impact, or maybe that's just me, my dad was playing Brian Auger &
The Trinity on the way back down...
