Hello, my name is Crystal Donahue, and following graduation from Spelman
College this May, I will conduct a study of the influence of
African-American music on the popular music industries of France, Germany,
the Netherlands, and Europe. Beginning this fall, I will spend three
months in each country, interviewing radio disc jockeys, music television
personnel, cultural festival organizers, artists, record producers, music
college professors, consumers, etc. In order to do this study, the
fellowship committee has asked that all participants establish contacts in
each of the countries (basically making sure that a feasible study exists).
I am looking for contacts related to the music industry in any of the four
countries. I am asking that these contacts allow me the chance to interview
and/or spend a couple of hours a week with them or their organization once I
arrive in a particular country. It is extremely difficult to establish
contacts from the United States, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
