haha!!! when I bought my trusty 89 corolla the guy put
on the radio and the speakers were fine. But brainy
me, the first tape I put in to celebrate was platinum
breakz and BAM!!! Suddenly all my speakers buzzed and
vibrated like some crazy african instrument! after
just shy of a year of abuse from the likes of that
stuff, the back speakers finally just fizzled and
died. They simply would not play anymore, and the
front ones are so blown you can barely make out what
the news announcers are saying. so we patched in some
treble speakers (twice the ....shit...um..watts, yeah
that's it, right? twice the number of watts as the
amp) and now it's tolerable.

I dont' have the answer, but I'm thinking about
getting a new setup in a few months. My theory was
that I'd try to get speakers that could handle 25%
more watts of poer than the amp was listed to dish
out, and then I'd probably be safe. I don't know how
that actually works with the electronics involved, but
the heavy duty treble speakers have held up nicely
under some rigorous beatings. I think they're bose
speakers.

Now no one on here will ever want to go on a road trip
with me!!
