Hey Kids. Got some very nice new stuff this week - all West London monsters :)

Domu - Message to Omar / Freedom You Want / Take Control (Archive#8)
Another Killer release from Archive... This label is just on it. The
record opens with a ticky, off-kilter hip hop instrumental that has a
too-clean edge to it, but it really gets going with "Freedom You
Want." The track moves along effortlessly, carried by his usual
broken-as-hell beats which are so characterized by his release on
2000black. The thing that gets me about this track is the slinky,
hyper-harmonized vocals. They're mixed back behind the drums, and
have an eerie stereo spread to them. It's just damn ghostly. "Take
control" is on a more upbeat note, it feels a bit like Dego's
UR-inspired stuff but the beats are Domu's. Production is lovely
overall. Relase date soon (no onesheet with my copy)

    Everyday People - I Can't Sleep (EarthProject#1)
On a new label distributed by Goya (who also does people, 2000 black,
mainsqueeze, and other lovelies) is a very nice record produced by
Orin Walters from Neon Phusion. Kaidi and Daz also work on the
tracks. Great vocals from Loretta Heywood.. The main mix has a very
light moogy feel, downtempo from most of the Neon stuff. There is a
Glasgow Gangster Funk remix on the house tip, but I feel like it
messes with the energy of the song. The flip is the Nocturnal Mix -
an alternate, faster mix with clipped, staccato beats. It almost
steps into 2-step territory with the beats, but is on a much deeper,
    soulful vibe. Exquisite...

Cooperative Vol.1 *aka the Bitasweet comp* (CO-OP)
My God. This is one of the best comps I have heard in a while. Has
the full roster of the People Make the World Go Round artists, but
all the material is entirely new and exclusive. An absolute must for
anybody interested in the West London scene. Here's the tracklisting
    (which should get you drooling):
    Phoojun (Phil Asher) - Blackcurrent
Unit 46 - Theme from the Beach
Murky Waters (IG Culture) - The Non-committal Yes
Misa Negra - Keep Your Head to the Sky
    Catalyst (Mustang) - Inspirations
Nu Era & Pavel Kostiuk (Dego from 4-hero) - Nana Nomura
    Seiji & G-force - Chase De Ace
    Neon Phusion - Timeless Motion
Modaji - Seen But Not Heard.

Gah!!! So much new stuff worth having on this one! Nearly every track
is a standout in one way or another. Modaji's track is a lush ambient
piece. Phil Asher gets very afro-beaty with his track, rather than
his usual jazzy house numbers - Scorching beats! IG brings a
wonderful acoustic jazz guitar solo with vocals, plus a signature
bassline. Alex Mustang is more relaxed than usual on his track,
thicker percussion and stronger melody. Dego's track is something
completely new. Just buy it. The whole thing reeks of innovation :)
supposedly released on 14th of July. Thanks to the nice guy who got
    this one to me.

I also picked up a one-sided promo of a new Ian Pooley tune -
Coracao. It's got a bit of Jazznova bossa influence, but is a little
on the trite clubby side for me. Doesn't seem heartfelt. It's quality
    stuff nonetheless.

    Cheers! Happy listening!
