TORONTO - Public Transit Recordings presents the second smoke-free Fresh Air on Friday, June 9.  The event will feature all the ingredients that made the first party a success  great DJs, unique visuals, and increased awareness.

    With support from
CKLN 88.1 FM, we invite you to another guaranteed slamming party.  With this event we are trying to create awareness of air pollution concerns that are plaguing our communities not only in Toronto but across Ontario.   Currently Ontario ranks as the third worst polluter in North America with air pollution killing over 1800 people each year and many more suffering from respiratory ailments directly caused by poor air quality. PTR would like to promote alternative lifestyles that are more environmentally friendly such as using public transit.  We would also like to expose major polluters such as coal fired power plants.  With decisions that we make as a whole community we will hopefully be able to create “Fresh Air” in an urban environment.

The event will feature DJs from the city, including Moonstarr, Logic, Audix, Archive, Genetic, Dave Cooper, Rosina, Orion, and Son of S.O.U.L.  Spinning everything from soul and hip hop, to drum n’ bass and techno.  The night will also feature a multimedia installation on the “Fresh Air” patio by Ocular Nutrition (Jeff Neskar, and James Hewitt).  Using photographs and projections the installation will focus on concepts of urban decay and air pollution in contrast with the idea of achieving clean air.  People will also be able to smoke in the fresh air of the patio as well if they choose.

The event will take place June 9 at LoveSexxy, 222 Richmond Street West at University. The evening starts at 9:50pm $7.00 admission $5 with valid TTC transfer of the day.

If you would like to know more about the event or interview any of the performing artists or organizers of “Fresh Air” please email or call the number below and leave your name, number, and the organization you are affiliated with.

If you would like to be removed from our list please send us a note.

    Thanks!
