    i've never had a unix acct. the way that i used to get my email--until last
    year--was thru a bbs (o.g., pre-internet technology) and that was a text
    only acct, w/no web access--you should see what attached files looked like
    in text!

    i agree that this isn't a topic worth more than about 5 emails, but my
    point, really, was just *don't assume.*
