    First off, props to all for the amusing subject headings throughout this
    thread. Someone should release a compilation titled "The Future Tedium of
    House," or perhaps simply, "The Future Sound of Tedium." ;-)

    I find myself coming back to house, after a couple of years of being almost
    militantly into breakbeat-driven music. I'm finding that many house tracks have
    a subtle nuance or warmth to the BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM that I hadn't really picked
    up on before. Perversely, the very thing that makes the music so predictable --
    that relentless, pounding four-on-the-floor -- is the same thing that lends the
    music interest: just what is it you're going to DO with that kick drum, if
    you're a producer?
