('binary' encoding is not supported, stored as-is) >-Erykah Badu- MAMA'S GUN: Straight up funk, pure and simple. Great grooves, but again, I don't know why, but I ain't playin' this one to death, like I thought I would (too busy listening to Goldfrapp!). I'm hoping that this one will grow on me more and more with every listen, cos' I've been waiting FOREVER for it to finally drop! I haven't seen many of u comment on this one. What do y'all think?<

This is my second favorite album of the year, out of a year of great music. I love the mix of styles. When you get over the Goldfrapp (which I'll have to check out myself), go and listen to the last song on the album, "Green Eyes". 10 minute classic, and she carries it through.

    >-Jill Scott- Who Is Jill Scott?- Ho Hum. Call me in a few years when you find your own musical identity. Ripping off Erykah Badu and, of all people (and WHY???!!!) Macy Gray just don't cut it. Sounds nice, but it's about as filling as a meal at a Chinese restaurant.<
And this, to me, is my favorite album of the year. I don't see the Badu comparisons, other than their connection with the Roots, I feel the albums are opposite sides of the same coin.
