I too was surprised that no one had mentioned this on this list.
I got the CD last weekend. On the first play, I was like, "this
is solid Lewis Taylor; nothing special," but a funny thing happened:
I CAN NOT stop playing this CD. I've gone so far as to purposely
leave it at home to ween myself off of it. I don't even want to listen
to the old one anymore right now.

What is great about this album is the uptemponess (that's not a word
I know) (not uptempo by normal standards, but uptempo for Lewis Taylor
standards). "Party" (I never thought I'd see this as a title on a lewis
taylor record after titles such as "bittersweet" off of the old one)
and "Into You" are my favs and "blue eyes" is simply beautifully
    orchestrated.

I bought Photek's Solaris the same weekend and its great that Photek
is stretching his dnb wings to a little house/2-step action, but the
album hasn't made a "sneak" impact on me like Lewis II did. What's
going on with the dnb scene. I'm hoping that Roni Size Represent
delivers, but if Breakbeat Era was an indication of Roni's future
production; its looking bleak. What in the heck is Goldie doing?

Lewis Taylor is supposedly touring with Finley Quaye as his guitarist
according to Finley's website. What is up with that? Speaking of
Finley Quaye can anyone review "spiritualized"?

    >I was surprised to see Mark post without mentioning Lewis II, the new
    >album by Lewis Taylor. It is pretty much the same old stuff as always
    >from this brilliant singer-songwriter. Perhaps there is not the same
    >exitement for this second album, but the retro sound and quality is
    >still impressive. Impressive or not, I miss a big song - like Lucky
    >from the first album - but other than that I have no objections.
