    hey there!

Well everyone, it's been a busy, busy time, with no sign of slowing.
Like much of T.O. (heck, the province!), I've been sick for weeks on end
so am only properly resurfacing now....with lots & lots of events to
tell you about. I hope not too many of you out there are sick. Be good
to your body if so 'cause this one lingers for weeks, five in my case,
and generally three plus for most people. Yikes! Anyway, on with the gig
    details....there's lots of 'em.

    TONIGHT!!!
Wednesday Oct.18, Glide & Higher Ground support CKLN!
Denise Benson ï Jason Palma ï Andrew Allsgood ï Sassa'le
at Gypsy Co-op and the Hooch, 817 Queen St. West

It doesn't get much better than this.... You can now find Andrew
Allsgood and myself dropping nu jazz ï dub ï deep house ï UKG ï beats,
breaks 'n more for our GLIDE Wednesdays at Gypsy each week AND Jason
Palma of Movement and CIUT hosting his jazz 'n funk filled Higher Ground
Sessions upstairs in the Hooch. All of us, every week, no cover, free
access to the two floors! Tonight, we'll ask for your donations at the
door as we raise $$ towards CKLN's fundFEST 2000 fundraising drive.
CKLN is listener-supported, community radio at it's finest. Come out,
dance, chill, groove, do what'cha like....and drop a coupla bucks in the
donation jar while you're at it. Version X-cursion's Sassa'le guests
    this eve as well!

    CKLN fundFEST 2000 ï Oct 20-29 ï 416.598.8810 to donate!
'Mental Chatter' fundFEST show ï Monday Oct. 23, 11am-2pm

Just a little reminder to those of you who listen to and enjoy the
programming heard on CKLN. We are listener supported radio, with the
funds raised in these 10 days of programming and pleading accounting for
more than 40% of our operating budget. In short, we can't do what we do
without you. Tune in to your fave shows and make a pledge! It's easy,
it's fun, it makes you feel good. There's lots of great prizes in return
for pledging and, best of all, CKLN will continue to broadcast 24/7 as a
much needed alternative to mainstream/ commercial radio. My own show,
Mental Chatter, enters fundFEST mode this coming Monday, Oct. 23 from
11am-2pm; please do dial 416.598.8810 and donate if you're able. You can
also pledge via the web site (and check Mental Chatter 'n other
playlists and charts): http://ckln.sac.ryerson.ca . Thanks!

Saturday October 28, SOULAR system re-enters orbit!
    Denise Benson ï Sassa'le ï M.O.T.O. perform live
at B-Side, 129 Peter St. above Fez Batik (enter on Richmond)

As promised, SOULAR system will return as a monthly event to B-Side.
We're expanding on the concept to include live bands who beautifully
bridge the electronic and organic worlds. To inaugurate the monthly
sessions, we welcome M.O.T.O. aka Mandala of the Octave. A collective of
sound artists formerly based in Vancouver, M.O.T.O. combine tech toys
with their very live selves and instruments to create unique
tribal-tech-house and moody abstractions. A hit at this summer's OM
Festival (Sumkidz stage), as in Buffalo where they opened for Ming & FS
this past summer for their OM Records tour. $8 at the door.
** All proceeds will support CKLN 88.1fm and fundFEST 2000 in the
station's quest to purchase new studio CD players. **

    And, coming up real soon......

Wednesday November 1 ï Glide & Fusion III present
a listening party for Jazzanova: The Remixes 1997 - 2000
featuring Denise Benson & birthday boy Andrew Allsgood at Gypsy Co-op

Join us from 9-11pm this eve as we bring you The Remixes in its double
CD entirety. Fans will definitely want to check this 'cause it's truly a
wicked collection, featuring tons of hard/impossible to find reworkings
of tracks by people ranging from U.F.O. and Incognito to 4 Hero, MJ
Cole, Tate's Place, Ski and more. Andrew and I will play our little
hearts out afterwards... and celebrate his birthday. No cover, just
lotsa love and great music. 817 Queen St. West.

Saturday November 25 ï SOULAR system ï next session
Denise Benson ï Sassa'le ï Directions perform live
at B-Side, 129 Peter St. above Fez Batik (enter on Richmond)

More details as we get closer. We are back in orbit!

And I think that's enough for now. Thanks everyone for reading through
this. Hope you enjoy the updates.

As always, if you would prefer not to be on this mailing list, just
lemme know and off your name shall go!

    Take good care.
