    Nothing wrong with the AT822, but it's really NOT for recording bands....
    unless maybe you're recording an ensemble and need the sound from a
    whole room. It is a stereo field mic, absolutely perfect for use with a video
    camera or similar recording situations. I once tried recording a funk band
    with a big horn section.... AT822 and a DAT. Was it crystal clear? Yes. Did
    it sound pressable? Not to my ears and not to anyone in that band.

    If I were a real mic-aholic I'd quote some specs, but I don't know any of
    that stuff. But, it's still a really good mic. My .02
