Res (aka Shareese Renee Ballard) is Afro-American (whether she has any
Chinese heritage remains to be seen). Some black artists use Chinese
imagery ...Wu-Tang Clan for example...Foxy Brown as well (Chinese tatoos
and the "Chyna Doll" album title). Doesn't mean they're Chinese...

The US record industry isn't interested in Chinese people (or any non-white
or non-black artists for that matter...and if you're Latino they'll give
you a chance but throw you in another category where you still make a lot
of sales yet the mainstream never really hears about you) but...that's
    another topic. :)
