I have offered to foot the bill several times, but I was assured by the
hosts/residents of the house not to give it a second thought.
Being a semi-conservative community mixed with a college population, the
only thing that surprised me was that it happened on my first outing.
The cops are rather fickle about noise violation. Giving that it was
mixed in a residential area, I'm not surprised that someone wanted to
play party pooper. :-)
