    I dunno-- I've referred to it as "soul electronica" before--
    electronica being the (kind of unfortunate, but whatever) catchall
    for breakbeat, techno, house, etc; "soul" differentiating it from the
    bleepy, aggro, "intelligent", glitch, hard, etc, etc, strains of the
    music.
