I was really disappointed with their last effort, so I'm a little reticent to go out and buy it without having heard it. I'm a big fan of their first disc and "We The People", which has a great Santana Abraxas-era sound and feel to it. In any case, if any of you have the new one, please post a review and let us in on the good groovy stuff.

By the way, the thread on Ken Burns/Wynton Marsalis/Jazz is fantastic!! Keep it coming! The posts are mostly very informative and open-minded, and it's nice to see so many fellow listmembers speak so passionately about this amazing music. Man, it's got me pulling out my old Hot Fives and Bessie Smith records and reliving being completely blown away the first time I heard them. I have a feeling that this documentary will have me pulling out some mucho old vinyl and the lesser heard jazz gems in my collection. Capitalism, commercialism or not, this series is amazing up to now and will hip new people onto this fantastic music and culture. Hopefully, it'll also serve as a wake up call to those who have a close-minded view of what jazz is. Wynton Marsalis, for example. Awesome musician, but a complete pompous jerkoff. I'd rather hear what Branford has to say.

I wonder what Wynton thought of his brother's Buckshot LeFonque project. I probably don't wanna know
