Chalk up another pre-nirvana 'indie-alternative' (kind of a catch all term,
    huh):

    pixies,
    pj harvey,
    my bloody valentine,
    shonen knife,
    lush,
    ride,
    the cranes,
    stone roses,
    alphaville

I think my first 'electronica' album, (unless you count My Bloody Valentine
as a precursor) was pizzicato five and one 'little fluffy clouds' single. i
was formally coverted while staying at someones place and hearing Bentley
Rhythm Ace, DJ Krush, Coldcut, and David Holmes on repeat.

    it

Growing up in the middle of nowhere in muscal terms (Castile, Spain), my
first music friends consisted of : Beastie boys, Mano Negra, Fabulosos
Cadillac (Matador kicks ass big time), Los carayos, Beck... then, I came
accross this compilation called Mephisto: the sound of the san francisco
underground. That changed completely my perception on what I used to call
"Bakalao". From then on, this music has been keeping me alive... Thank you
    Mephisto!
