Big Bud has a new album coming out...but for all die hard fans I must
recommend a white label Good Looking 7" I picked up at breakbeat science
over new years. Straight up roots dub GLO style, Big Bud-"Runaway"...has
anyone else heard this? Its fantastic.
I've been a fan of GLO for a long time, but it seems to me that their
extra-dnb affairs are superior in consistancy and quality...check Earth 1-4
and the material on Cookin'. A lot of GLO dnb just seems a little spare for
listening purposes, I mean LTJ leaves a lot of room for his MC's.
However, I have to say that the last Progession Session LP (#5 I think)
takes dnb MCing to the next level. The interplay of Conrad and DRS is
incredible...it kind of reminds me of the way Mos Def & Talib Kwali
interact: Mos Def with deepness (and the voice) and Talib with the
metaphorical.
