         Speaking of Truffaz (Pace's list), y'all should check out his new one;
    it sounds pretty sweet.

Stimp, what's the title of the new one? Revisite'? Or is it something
    newer than that?

He seems to have picked up a harder edge and added
a guitar (which sometimes gets kinda noisy, but good noisy).

Guitar? A blast from the past Terje Rypdal's -Odyssey- on ECM talk about
    rippin' to Neptune!!!

Guitar in this world? I have heard some decent stuff coming from Chris
    Bangs.

      There's also a
bit of an Arabic edge to some tunes, with an oud player making an appearance
on one song and an Arabic singer on another. Sounds pretty good, although
    nothing groundbreaking.

You know I spent 90 days in Saudi Arabia back in the hot summer of 94 and I
really didn't like it a'tall yet I do miss hearing the call's to prayers and
all that Harmonic Minor and Double Harmonic Minor chanting. Reminds me of
my first exposure to that form with Led Zeppelin's "Kasmir". I heard a band
on the radio the other day break into "Call to Prayers-esque" vibe, I think
it may have been Disturbed's "Stupify" but I can't be sure.

For truly brilliant psychedelic trippy stuff, you can't be without the
Miles Davis "Complete In A Silent Way Recordings".

What does it for me with this is Miles Davis "He Loved Him Madly" and I
think John Mc Laughlin is the guitarist on that one.

Did the the 90's completely castigate the use of guitar in music?

    Semper Motociclismo,

    Pace'

Those who aren't familiar with this landmark record will be completely
blown away at Miles' genius, and those of you who have the original and love
it will simply freak over the alternate takes, which are different enough
from the original album cuts, to be considered completely different tunes.

Plus, the unreleased stuff and the tunes that were previously available
only on the "Water Babies" import make this IMHO by far the best boxset
released this year. Check it out.

    Stimp
