Got 2 "essence" 12"s yesterday in the mail. I only had a chance to listen to
    the Joe Claussel RMX...sweet!

It starts out with a nice jazz/soulfull dnb with sharp, layered drums that
lend the percussion a lot of texture. Chaka Kahn's vocals lay down in a
nice, mellow style (in which she sounds great!) complete with some nice
melodic progressions...and then it breaks down just to the bass drum, which
transforms into a house beat. From then out, it's some serious body & soul
percussive deepness with the added bonus of Herbie's keys. Seriously epic!
The LTJ remix is also tight...

Another nice tune that was sent to me recently was the new Ronny Jordon
produced by DJ Spinna on Blue Note. the A side "on the record" is typical
jazz house (perhaps even "Dad house")...but the flip "off the record is
truly wicked. It drops with a slow (65bpm) downtempo groove and Jordan's
slick guitar licks, but as the song progresses a double time rhythm slowly
reveals itself. I love songs that exist in in two tempos!

    also peep these...

    thunderball-scorpion rising-esl
    megashira-at last-infracom
    roxy vs el-b --sick!!!

    peace
