Kinda late on this post, but I've been waylayed with an
early season cold, but still had to chime in...

Z-Trip came to town here in Calgary about a month ago and
totally rocked the house. It was great to head out to such
an upbeat show after Sept. 11's events. Z-trip ran off a
huge, wide-ranging 2+ hour set, and the crowd
appreciatively danced the whole stinkin' time. One of the
best 'party' dj's I've ever seen. By that I mean that,
unlike many turntablists who basically just wank off for 30
minutes, Z-trip knows how to work a crowd, spinning
everything from classic soul and funk to hip hop (old and
new) and even some rawk. One of the evening's highlights
might have been hearing Christina Aguilera's "Genie in a
Bottle" being played over top the guitar lick from ACDC's
"Back in Black", or hearing him seamlessly go through about
5 different records, playing different versions of
Run-DMC's "walk this way". This guy must have an insane
record collection. Highly recommend heading out to catch
    him out live.
