    Hi Steven,
I can offer you a few suggestions:

    NYC:
Be sure to check out these music shops:
    - Dub Spot (12th St between 1st and A) - more of a DJ record shop, but
    many choice CDs
    - Etherea (Ave A at 5th Street)
    - Other Music (3rd St & Lafayette)
    - Satellite (on Bowery)

Musically, there's always a lot happening. Check out a copy of Time Out NY
when you get here for a pretty comprehensive listing.
I will be hosting an event on Saturday 11/17 at Halcyon in Brooklyn. This
is a lounge / music shop / bar / cafe with a really great soundsystem.
We'll be rocking jazzy beats of the dubby hip hoppy & nu-jazz variety,
plus rare grooves and ethnic flavors. It's on Smith street near the Bergen
    Street F train in Brooklyn.

As for the other cities, I'm sure other listees will have much better
input, but FWIW here's my faves:

Philly: Cue Records & Sylk City club/bar. Also check listmember Argo's
    site for upcoming events: www.beleza-music.org/vivid

SF: Groove Merchant on Haight Street, Open Mind Music, BPM, and of course
Amoeba Records, the largest independent music shop in the country.
Also check out Dub Mission at the Elbow Room on Sunday nights with the
    excellent DJs Sep and Manish

    peace

    Nat

    Hi all!

Sorry to bother if you see this message twice.

I will have a meeting in US in about 2 weeks. I will also take some days
    off to visit SF, LA,
Philadelphia, NYC and Boston during the period of Nov. 8 to Nov. 23. Do
    you know where are the
great places - bars, clubs and CD-shops on downtempo/nu-jazz scene in
    these cites? And where can
I find some downtempo/nu-jazz event calendar on these cities? Pls let me
    know your
recommendations. Thanks for your help in advance!

    Steven
