On the topic of Cinematic's upcoming release, I got an advanced copy of it,
and it smokes!!!!! The tunes run very much along the vein of their first
release, "Motion", with great female vocal bits thrown in throughout the
    disc. I think that it's slated for release in late may in North America;
    definitely a great listen!!

I also had a chance to listen to the new Amon Tobin disc, coming out
sometime in September. Once again, fans will not be disappointed, much like
what we've heard from him in the past, although the five or so tunes I heard
somehow sounded a little more chill than what I'm used to hearing from him.
Mind you, couldn't really pay attention properly, so I can't really say
    much more than that.

Finally, the schedule for the upcoming Jazz Festival in Montreal came
out not long ago. Among the greats showing up this year:
    -Angie Stone
    -Lauryn Hill solo
    -Kool & The Gang
-Tabla Beat Science with Zakir Hussain, Bill Laswell, Ustad Sultan Khan and
    Karsh Kale (excellent record!)
    -Nils Petter Molvaer
-Medeski, Martin & Wood with Charlie Hunter
-Herbie Hancock w Michael Brecker and Roy Hargrove
    -Daniel Lanois
    -Marianne Faithful
    -Chick Corea
    -Dave Brubeck
    -Remy Shand

There's quite a few more mentioned at www.montrealjazzfest.com If any
of you have some vacation time lined up during this time, jazzfest time in
Montreal is a complete blast; the whole city's alive!! Come check it up,
and ring me up if you wish.
