Cool, another fan of Can (Krautrock legends). These guys can loosely fit
into this group in that they were one of the first rock bands to really
incorporate electronic sounds (I don't mean keyboards and such) into their
music. Their first record, "Monster Movie" is widely considered to be their
best, but all of their late 60's early70's output is pretty damn good. For
the unitiated, they've recently released three separate "Best of"
compilations which go by the title of "Cannibalism vols.1, 2, 3" I'd
probably go for Vol.1, since it traces their earlier, more critically
acclaimed material.
I'm a bit surprised that the band Throbbing Gristle was mentioned in this
whole NIN thread, since they're one essential source and inspiration for the
later industrial movement.
