    NEWS
Several of items of note for you this week.
One of the most significant news of the week is that Urban Landscapes's
home base, Cal Poly's radio station KCPR, is once again broadcasting
live 24/7 over the Internet. This means that you can also listen to
Urban Landscapes live wherever you are on the Net. Check it at
http://kcpr.org for more info on the live stream. You can click directly
to the live feed at http://129.65.35.106:8000/listen.pls
Can't catch the live show? That's alright. The other big news is that
the catchup with the previous shows making their way online is going
well. Due to techy glitches, I've had to recreate the shows in the order
of each playlist. I wasn't able to make the time to do the proper
voiceovers that I usually do for the show, so you will have to refer to
the playlists to more-or-less stay in the loop.
The last two shows are now online. The broadcast for Friday January 24
will also get the reconstruction treatment, and I'll let you know when
    it's ready for listening.
    THE ADDICT MERCHANTS
Big thanks goes out to the Addict Merchants from Sacramento for coming
to San Luis Obispo. it's a damn shame that the powers-that-be made them
start the show so late (midnight??), this after waiting for three hours
and having to endure about 90 minutes or so of commercial hip-hop with
some local guys who I'm sure never heard of them. I just hope that
they'll get better respect the next time around. In any event, those who
enjoyed it made it known. Come back out to SLO soon!
    VELANCHE'S TRIP--PART TWO & NEW REVIEWS FORTHCOMING
I know that I've kept many of you in wait for the second installment of
the story about my European trip. Unfortunately, I was broadsided with a
nasty bout of the flu last weekend. I've ended up in bed for days, and
now I'm working my way back from the delay.
Likewise, the new music reviews are in the process of completion. This
should be done in a matter of days, so watch your inbox and I'll keep
    you posted.
With this being a long holiday weekend for the U.S., I'm going to be
working at playing catchup on a variety of things. So expect some goods
    trickling very soon.
