The Man, The Myth, The Legend… is hitting SoCal for 2
    consecutive nights (tonight/Wednesday – LA,
    tomorrow/Thursday – SD)

    DEGO (4Hero, 2000Black, Co-Op UK)
Dego is a man of many names and many sounds. He has
produced songs under the monikers 4 Hero, Tek 9 and
Nu-Era, each one championing a futuristic and
innovative sound. Dego has created a veritable library
of broken beat, drum'n bass and soul sounds featuring
a high caliber of artists including Terry Callier,
Jill Scott and Ursula Rucker of the Roots and King
Britt. DEGO is also know for remix work ranging from
Nyurican Soul, Talvin Singh, DJ Krush, Ben Harper,
Goldie, Incognito, Bebel Gilberto and Mos Def.

here’s what LA Weekly recently said:
” You probably already know the waxwork of Pavel Dego
Kostiuk, even if you don’t recognize the name. He goes
by just “Dego,” and together with Marc Mac makes up 4
Hero, the infectious U.K. brokenbeatz duo responsible
for reconstructing just about everybody’s rare grooves
(most memorably Minnie Riperton’s “Les Fleurs”) into
cleanly beat-driven bliss-outs. Call it any number of
    names — abstract lounge/down-tempo/nu-soul — Dego’s
solo sound is rooted in the remnants of the late-’80s
    and early-’90s acid-jazz juggernaut. He’s supporting
two new releases tonight: Pavel Kostiuk & the
Musicals, consisting of speedy, butt-wiggling and
(trust me) never-corny reworkings of material from
Broadway shows like West Side Story; and the more
    laid-back Selector Series Vol. 2, an all-remixed
sampler showcasing Dego’s trademark cascading samples
of bass and xylophone, bossa breakbeats, and seamless
segues on tracks by Bugz in the Attic, Bah Samba and
    Blacktonez.”
