    >>i have to say live music is doing it so much more for me
    >>these days than going to a club and hearing a dj - even
    >>tho im one of those dj's myself..

Unable to catch any live shows much less good DJ acts near our home,
I've had few chances this year to catch some great shows when out of
town. Most recent was seeing "Manitoba" open for "Four Tet" less then 3
weeks ago in Brooklyn. If anyone has yet to see these guys live, you
just must! There are 3 of them, 2 of which are drummers each on a drum
set perfectly synchronized when playing. I can't begin to explain how
amazing that is to see much less hear. Everyone in the room was glued to
the show. They alter between drums, keys, guitar both acoustic and
electric as well as flutes of some sort. I'm honestly ignorant as to
what that type of flute or horn that they were playing. The visuals,
video, were also beyond creative with a touch of childhood like
innocence in reflection of the melancholy yet powerful music being
    played.

We felt bad for Four Tet as he came on shortly after to play on his lap
top. The whole venue became more or less a lounge as the voices of folks
inside almost swallowed the music he was playing.
