STYLIN - Rare grooves, hi-tech jazz and other worldly fusions
Friday afternoons 12-2pm RRR 102.7FM, Melbourne
Live online - http://www.rrr.org.au/index2.html (see below for times)

    Hello all

Well, I've been promising myself to get the newsletters done earlier in the
week ... let's see if I can keep it up.

Because this may never happen again, I can't hold back from telling you all
that Gilles Peterson has played my remix of SHQ's "Cubano Chant" on his
global radio show "Worldwide". It comes in about 13 minutes into the stream
linked below. The remix will be available on "Cosmic Sounds Remixed" which
is officially released in about 2 weeks. It's a great album which also
includes excellent mixes from European producers Nicola Conte, Eddy & Dus,
Panoptikum, Zeljko Kerleta, Gak Sato, Crate Soul Brothers and BGYSS.

After a long wait, London Elektricity are preparing to drop their (well, his
    - it's just Tony Colman now) 2nd album, with the appetising title "Billion
Dollar Gravy". I love the moody downtempo future soul of "Born to
Synthesize" but Trainspotters' Corner was reserved for the title cut. This
epic drum and bass track takes snatches of vocal from blues/rock band
Collosseum, whose 1969 tune "Elegy" combines jazz and samba influences with
the most heartbreaking lyrics sung to a terminally ill lover.

Next Friday I'll be joined in the studio by members(!) of Crazy Penis. We'll
also have giveaways for their live show that night at the Prince.

    until then
    Ennio Styles
