    Greetings,

If you're perusing the playlist below in search of Heinz Tronigger's
mix set, you'll notice it's MIA. I'm still waiting for a list of all
the tracks and as soon as I get them, so will you. In the meantime, I
encourage you to check out the re-broadcasts, available at all the
regular places this week and just enjoy the music!

There's a truckload of new releases this week - some I can talk about
here and others.....I think you understand....here's what I can
    discuss:

Sia: Colour The Small One - One of Zero 7's leading ladies drops her
second album and it's absolutely gorgeous. Consisting primarily of
breathy ballads, you can almost imagine her lips pressed close to
your ear as she sings to you about love, lust and life. I don't know
who's carrying it in your neck of the woods, but Amazon UK is selling
it at a fairly reasonable price.

DKD: Future Rage - Dego, Kaidi and Daz-I-Kue come correct with a
smashing set that maintains the high standards one would expect from
the Bugz crew. Broken beats and jazzy, diminished chords abound with
guest vocals from Lady Alma, Bembe Segue and Donnie. Of all the
Bugz-related projects to come out of West London, this may be the
best to date. Available only as a Japanese import for now.

Minimal Compact: There's Always Now (Remixes & Remakes) - Part of a
three-disc box set (Returning Wheel) covering the history of this
ground-breaking '80s group, ...Always places some of their best-known
material into the hands of contemporary producers for the re-rub.
Tiefschwartz, Fauna Flash, Kruder & Stereotyp, Maurice Fulton and
others add new perspective to the decidedly dark tunes, resulting in
some unusual interpretations. Fun factoid: lead singer Samy Birnbach
is the real name of DJ Morpheus - curator of the Freezone series.

V/A: A Journey To The Dawn - A collection of 'spiritual jazz' tracks
from Pharoah Sanders, Ed Kelly, Bishop Norman Williams and Babatunde,
all previously recorded for the Theresa label. Compiled by Gilles
Peterson and Rocco Pandiana, this is music that's deep and
    transcendent .

For the Bay area locals, we'll have tickets for this Saturday's live
performance by Monolake, Deadbeat and a special DJ set from Kit
Clayton at the Recombinant Media Lab located in Hunter's Point. For
more information, check the Asphodel Web site:
    http://www.asphodel.com.

Until next time, ciao for now,
    David
