STYLIN - Rare grooves, hi-tech jazz and other worldly fusions
Friday afternoons 12-2pm RRR 102.7FM, Melbourne (GMT +11)
Live online - http://www.rrr.org.au (see below for global times)
    Archived online thanks to http://www.quantumlounge.net

    Hello all

Unfortunately no archive for last week's show. Like the old days, Stylin 193 was a moment in time, lost thanks to a power surge in the studio that froze the recording of the show.

If you didn't tune in, you missed a sunny uptempo mix from Zagreb's Eddy Ramich, one part of Eddy & Dus, now one part of Eddy Meets Yannah. The new EMY album 'Just Like' is just out on Compost, plus a single remixed by Reel People. Also a bit of Japan crate-digging will yield 2 gems in the form of EMY remixes of Tania Maria and Bobby Caldwell, for Soul Source's Remixed Boogies and Remixed Fevers albums.

So much great music around at the moment. Detroit house heads need to check the Napi Hedz (Piranhahead, Reggie Dokes & Craig Huckaby) remix on Rhythmic Deep. Motorcity jazz fusion house at its best. Also recommended: Five Corners Quintet's new EP and album (perhaps one of the best European jazz albums ever), Fertile Ground's 'revisited' (and much improved) version of their first album 'Field Songs', Dena Deadly's soul killer 'I Don't Eva Wanna Stop' is finally out, Sydney's Kid Zen drops his 12" on Future Classic, Panoptikum combine spiritual jazz with deep house without compromise, and Myka Nyne (rated by my friend Jimmy as the best MC ever) from Freestyle Fellowship and Haiku D'Etat has a great new EP recorded with a live band.

This week: maybe a guest mix (depending on what the postman brings), otherwise solo Styles.

If you're in Melbourne on the weekend, check out the Yo Mama warehouse party in Abbotsford, but you have to dress up!
