STYLIN - Rare grooves, hi-tech jazz and other worldly fusions
Friday afternoons 12-2pm RRR 102.7FM, Melbourne (GMT +11)
Live online - http://www.rrr.org.au (see below for global times)

    Hello all

Too brief was the bumping, clicking, bleeping set from Hakan Lidbo's laptop on last week's Stylin. I always knew he was prolific, but when he told us he has over 170 releases under his belt, I struggled to think of other guests I've had whose output compares. While I'm definitely not familiar each of those releases, I've certainly got some great ones where he twists the house and techno grooves with latin, bossa and electro-pop touches. Word was good on his set at Honkytonks last Friday too.

Speaking of Honkytonks, we're happy to be hosting Karsten John at Open Sesame this Thursday. Karsten is behind the Vinyl Vibes club nights, label and radio show in Cologne, Germany and was last in Australia touring with Mo Horizons. He's a deep crate digger and always manages to drop heavyweight tunes but keep the party vibe. Judging from the great Brasilian tour diary on his website, we can probably expect some rare Brasilian tunes amongst it all. Karsten plays Thursday at Honkytonks, then Friday he'll be my guest on Stylin.
