Hola,

It's been a long and busy weekend, the highlight of which was the
Steve Turre show on Friday night. With an all-star band that included
Mulgrew Miller and James Carter, they ripped their way through
selections from The Spirits Up Above, an album celebrating the music
of Rahsaan Roland Kirk. Steve even brought his 'sacred shells' for
the encore that had the audience on their feet once again.

This weekend the SFJazz Fest presents two more outstanding shows:
McCoy Tyner, Joshua Redman, Brian Blade and Reginald Veal performing
John Coltrane's "Crescent" on Friday night. Then on Sunday, it's the
Bad Plus and pianist Christopher O'Riley performing the music of
Radiohead. We'll have tickets to both, so be sure to tune in for your
chance to win.

On deck musically, we have the latest albums from the Joshua Redman
Elastic Band, Brian Eno, Bebel Gilberto Remixed, Fat Freddy's Drop,
Jukka Eskola, Common, Goapalle and much more. I hope you'll join me!

Ciao for now,
David
