Sorry for the double playlist, it's been a bit of a mad couple of
weeks. First off I want to thank everyone who came out to Movement last
Friday night at Supermarket. As usual, great people all ready to get
down! This week we are very proud to present the one and only Mark De
Clive Lowe along with the sublime vocals of Bembe Segue for another
special Movement session at Supermarket(268 Augusta). If you are
unfamiliar with these two powerhouses of modern soul and jazz music, do
yourself a favour and come out this Friday and discover something very
special. Mark is an icon on the west London scene, and his soulful
productions have caught the attention of all movers and shakers world
wide. His "Tide's Arising" lp is a mixture of soulful broken beats,
house, soul, hip hop and jazz and is nominated for best lp of the year
for Gilles Peterson's Worldwide awards. Bembe, who is featured on the
lp is one of my favourite singers and has worked with Higher Ground
favourites like Two Banks Of Four, IG Culture and Bugz In The Attic.
Cover is only 10 dollars, but the first five people with "Movement
Please!" in the subject line will get themselves and a guest in free.
See you there! Finally, this week marks CIUT's fundraiser so please
tune in to Higher Ground and call in with a pledge. We want to keep
Higher Ground one of the station's top rated shows! Until next week,
keep your feet firmly planted on that Higher Ground! JP
