Gee, I wonder how much money she could be making if she were still here with
    us?
It's funny how music can sometimes make you think of a time, a place, an
    event, etc.

The music of Minnie Riperton holds a special place in my heart because it
makes me think of a special person :-)

Back in 1998 years ago I created the very FIRST web page on the internet
about the life and music of Minnie Riperton at:
    http://www.soul-patrol.com/funk/minnie.htm
    <a href=" http://www.soul-patrol.com/funk/minnie.htm "> MINNIE RIPERTON ON
    THE SOUL-PATROL.COM WEBSITE </a>

It's a web page that I poured quite a bit of my own heart and soul into as I
was creating it, and after I finished it, I would often just go to it,
seeking inspiration from the depth of what I knew that I had put into it.
Now I realize that the depth of emotion that I personally put into that page
may not be apparent to the casual reader, but for me personally, it jumps
    right off of the page.

When the page first went up, a lot of folks wrote in to me and asked
    questions like...

. "What's Minnie Riperton doing on a FUNK music site"?
. "Why devote a web page to someone who was a "one hit wonder"?

I do believe that as time has passed, that frequent visitors to the site
have come to understand EXACTLY why Minnie is there, as I have recommended
specific music to listen to and talked with folks about the impact her music
    has had on me.

Since that time of course, a lot of other people have created web sites
about Minnie Rip and they are all quite good. However many people have
written to me over the past four years and asked me why I haven't updated
the page since I put it up?
Well I did actually update it once, and that was when we had the chance to
pose some questions to Minnie's daughter Maya Rudolph, which you can also
    see at:
    http://www.soul-patrol.com/funk/minnie.htm
    <a href=" http://www.soul-patrol.com/funk/minnie.htm "> MINNIE RIPERTON ON
    THE SOUL-PATROL.COM WEBSITE </a>

Maya Rudolph is a beautiful person, who was most concerned about the privacy
of her family and didn't want any publicity for herself or for anyone to
think that she was trying to ca$h in on her mother in any way. But she was
glad to answer a few questions from the many fans who have written to me
about Minnie Riperton. Since that time, I haven't ever tried to contact
Maya, out of respect for her wishes.

After that I just left Minnie alone....

The pain of her death is such that when coupled with the beauty of her music
and the emotion that I put into the web page at:
    http://www.soul-patrol.com/funk/minnie.htm
    <a href=" http://www.soul-patrol.com/funk/minnie.htm "> MINNIE RIPERTON ON

    Has rendered me speechless.

Minnie Riperton created some of the most erotic/sensuous music that I have
    ever heard
I don't have anything else to say about her except to recommend to you all
of the brothas out there to grab a hold of whomever your PERFECT ANGEL might
happen to be, crack open a bottle of wine, light some candles and load up as
many Minnie Riperton CD's as you can get your hands on.

And be prepared to treat your PERFECT ANGEL like the queen that she is.
Hold your PERFECT ANGEL close to your heart. Love her like you have never
loved her before Make sure that she knows that she is your PERFECT ANGEL
Sometimes it's difficult for brothas to express themselves. It's even
harder for our PERFECT ANGELS to know how we feel about them. We OWE it to
them to let them know that they are our PERFECT ANGELS

And just in case you can't find the right words to let your PERFECT ANGEL
know how you feel, have no fear; the words are right nearby. Minnie Riperton
has made it so easy for us to let them know just how we feel about them thru
the beauty of the music that she left behind for us

I don't have anything left to say about Minnie Riperton. Maybe you do?
Maybe her music has impacted your life as much as it has mine?

"You are one....and I am another....we should be....ONE inside each
other....You can see inside me will you COME INSIDE ME.....do you wanna
    RIDE....my LOVE"

(& being on the ONE, is what FUNK is all about....)
