Remember I used to send these newsletters out with playlists from the show and all? We'll here I am catching up on the last few.
More importantly, I had to let you know about the various visitors we have in Melbourne and Stylin over the next few days.
All the way from Germany, Dirk Rumpff drops by Open Sesame at Honkytonks tomorrow (Thursday) night to spin his 'eclectic freestyle' blend. Dirk's Offtrack radio show is legendary for presenting the freshest tunes and his DJ sets have been heard alongside the likes of Jazzanova, Kruder & Dorfmeister and
Rainer Trüby. His productions under the Season moniker have graced influential compilations like Future Sounds of Jazz on Compost, and been remixed by Bugz in the Attic's Afronaught.

Dirk should have quite an audience, with the likes of Quantic Soul Orchestra, Alice Russell, the Bamboos, Mad Mats & his regular Raw Fusion MC Aaron Phiri and Russ Dewbury planning to stop by Open Sesame to check it out. They are all in town to play the Prince for what should be a great party on Friday night. All of these acts are Stylin favourites, and we should have a few of them coming into the show on Friday afternoon with Dirk as well. We'll also have some tickets to give away on the show.

The Stylin archives are up on the freshly renovated http://www.quantumlounge.net. Check it out. Shows 210 and 211 are there now, with 212 and 213 to come very soon. Show 210 featured Tuomas Kallio, the producer of one of the albums of the year, and one of the best European jazz albums ever, 'Chasing the Jazz Gone By' by the Five Corners Quintet. Sounds like lots of touring happening for them at the moment, but they have a few interesting releases coming up too. There'll be a cover version for Ubiquity's next Rewind comp - they haven't decided on a tune yet so email if you have any suggestions. They're also collaborating with Sonar Kollektiv for Jazzanova's album and a rework of a tune from a new jazz reissue project. Plus they'll have remixes of the album cuts to come in the next few months.
