Hola,

First, let me say thanks to everyone who sent in letters of support
for the new podcast that's up and running - I really appreciate your
enthusiasm! For those keeping track, a new show will be usually be
uploaded Sunday afternoon / evening PT and available for
approximately two months before rotating out. Scoll down the page or
go to the Web site for more info.

The SFJazz Collective is back in town this weekend, following a tour
of the U.S. and Europe and will be performing at the Herbst Theater
for three shows. This year, they're re-interpreting the music of
Herbie Hancock in addition to another stellar collection of original
compositions and we'll have at least one pair of tickets available
for the Sunday show for one lucky listener. We'll also listen to a
selection from last year's performances, available as a single disc
from Nonesuch Records, or a triple disc set that you can order
directly from SFJazz.org.

Other new sounds on tap this evening include the newly remastered
edition of My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts from David Byrne and Brian
Eno, singles from Daisuke Tanabe, Soulphonic Soundsystem & Rasiyah
(w/Mark De Clive-Lowe), plus plenty of other discs I haven't finished
listening to yet. Last week I mentioned the new Groove Collective
album (People People Music Music) in passing, but that was before I
had heard the whole thing. It's really an outstanding piece of work,
touching on jazz and world fusions with complex arrangements and lush
melodies. Maybe their best work to date and highly recommended.

That's all for tonight......until next week,
David
