Well, that's a cliched and inaccurate argument. Idi Amin, IMHO, didn't do
much of anything right but he got a lot of attention. I think we sound like
Jealous Children because a great many of us (DJs and Musicians alike) can
and do make better music than a lot of stuff that is attempted to be sold
as the end-all/be-all of the genre that we refer to as Acid-Jazz (this is
also applicable to HipHop and Jungle). Jamiroquai wrote one great song,
released it on the en vogue label of the time and got signed to an eight
(8) album deal with Sony. Am I jealous? Yup!

I hear bar bands more solid than J.K. and his crew and you know what, the
majority of them will never be signed. That also goes for the guys with the
Akais and ASR-10s who are making interesting new sounds instead of
reiterating the well-reiterated past. As far as I'm concerned Jamiroquai is
(to quote a friend) the Hootie and the Blowfish of Acid Jazz.
