I replied to Bubbalicious on my PK post but I thought I'd drop my extended
$.02 onto the whole list.
Thanks for all of your opinions on the group.
Truthfully I thought the same as the majority..when I first popped the
album in I thought the PKs were just another bad G Love & Special Sauce
wannabe group, in it for the "alter-jazz" sound that seems to be very
crossover. So I wrote them off.
Being a music director I tried again and again to like the album...but I
wasn't impressed. So I just thought I'd go the meet-n-greet anyway (you
know..get my schmooze on ;) ) I was totally caught off guard by the
band's live skills. The lead singer's performance didn't even compare to
the album's bland state. All the instrumentalists were right on point
with all of their styles, the balance was correct, and it was just a
tight performance. The PKs will rightfully earn their respect through
their shows more than anything...
thanks again for all the input!
