um, yeah. simply, it's great. although i really like the live feel of the 
first album, there's a lot lusher instrumentation on "we the people". 
this album is more vocal driven, but the groove remains. there's also a 
more pronounced latin influence; overall it's just stellar. 
on a completely different note, the new mouth almighty (or mouth mighty, 
i can't remember which) division of mercury just released the soundtrack 
to _the united states of poetry_ series on public television; music by 
tomandandy, with various poets, from amiri baraka, paul beatty, ginsburg, 
etc. powerful stuff, with some amazing music backing. is this some sort 
of new movement, a revival of the beat aesthetic? brooklyn funk 
essentials, u.f.o., the roots, buckshot lefonque, they've all been doing 
this sort of groovy spoken word stuff...c.
