Picked up the new One Step Beyond album Saturday, and I gotta send big
props out to the Mo'Funk crew over in Vancouver for bringing us this one.
For all you latin jazz junkies, this is the dope. I don't know what the
availability is like on this one outside of Canada, but if you can get
your hands on this one, by all means do. Had this one in my cd player all
weekend.

Another great purchase, for those into the 70's jazz-funk/soul-jazz
thang, is the Various Artists 'Blue Note Rare Grooves' comp. The
compilation features, among others, Jack McDuff, Jimmy McGriff, RIchard
'Groove' Holmes, John Patton, Reuben WIlson, Donald Byrd, and the fabulous
Candido. Over one hour of grooves guaranteed to shake yours.

And lastly, but not leastly(?), big ups to Paul E-Lopes, Mike Tull, and
the whole crew responsible for Bump And Hustle 2. Although I wasn't too
hot on Black Sam, or whatever the act with the guy on keys and the three
female singers was called, the rest of the show certainly lived up to
it's name.

peace,
Jakub.
